Sopiato returns to school

Gladys Sopiato, a 17-year-old girl, rejected an early forced marriage and decided to return to school despite all odds, passing her Primary School National Examination with flying colors and securing a spot in Kenswed Secondary School.

Teenage pregnancy and dropping out have long been associated with numerous  negative effects, including higher lifetime poverty. The Kenswed Girl Empowerment Program aims to break the cycle by offering young mothers a second chance to achieve their educational goals.
