Marginalized people living in poverty
Kenswed Girls Empowerment program has a vision to empower girls and women in Kajiado, Kenya who live in vulnerability.
Girls are the ones who suffer the most from the negative effects of the Covid pandemic; the Kenswed organization discovered the need for a project like this in the area due to an increasing number of pregnant girls at Kenswed Secondary School and surrounding area. The planning process started with the coming up with proposals on how the project should be designed for the best outputs. The pilot was launched in the beginning of 2021, a program on a small scale. The program has reached out to 20 girls as the primary target group. The Girls Empowerment Program (GEP), adding more emphasis on the rights-based approach to development.
