For girls in some sections of Kajiado county, menstruation means missing school. Menstruation is a taboo subject in many cultures, that is why the Kenswed Girls Empowerment Program visited schools where girls did not have access to period supplies or information about their own frustration factors. We also talk to men and boys in the community about menstrual hygiene and health.
Through our work, a large number of girls have benefited from our initiatives.
